Message from the Principal
As we approach the end of another term, I consider the distance travelled so far this year. The opportunities, the spirit of resilience and excellence continue to stand out. I would like to thank everyone in our community for your support of Clontarf Beach SHS.
Even though we near the end of this term, it is certainly business time for our Year 12s, who are at the very tail end of school learning and assessment before they jump into the celebration season. I wish these senior students all the best as they continue to put their best results forward until all exams and assessment are completed. It is important on this holiday you take the time need to rejuvenate so that you can return ready for the final few lessons, some external exams, wonderful celebrations and your final goodbye!
A big thank you to the teachers and teams at school, and support networks at home who have been supporting these students in their senior studies.
For all other year levels, there is a whole term left of school with some significant learning left in the year. When students and families receive Term Three Reports in the early weeks of Term 4, this is an opportunity for a conversation about goal setting for achievement for the rest of the school year.
These past weeks we have seen our Year 9 and 10 students considering their future pathways, and, in consultation with their parents and carers selecting subjects that will best support them on their journey beyond school. This is an exciting time for them as they truly step into their senior phase of schooling. With this comes much responsibility and another step up in expectations. I am sure they will rise to the challenge.
Within the school lies a team of dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to create an environment for growing and learning. Our staff continue to guide and nurture our students’ intellectual and personal development. Teachers work diligently preparing lessons, tutoring students, and fostering a culture of inclusivity for our students. It takes time, organisation and teamwork to ensure curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting align to maximise student outcomes.
