Brisbane 100: One City Together at City Hall
Free event commemorating a significant milestone in our city's history: "Brisbane 100: One City Together". This all-ages event will take place at Brisbane City Hall on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, from 10am to 4pm.
Inspired by the 1925 amalgamation that formed Greater Brisbane, this day is designed to be a fun and informative big day out for families and anyone curious about our city's past and present. It's an excellent opportunity for students to engage with local history in an interactive and memorable way.
Highlights specifically for children and families include:
• Family and Children’s Activities in the Sandgate Room: This hub of excitement offers Bazil Grumble’s drop-in workshops, interactive displays from Urban Utilities, puzzles and challenges from Just Wood Fun, and the Museum of Brisbane’s "Brisbane Now and Then" activity, where children can compare objects and photographs from the past and present.
• "Brisbane 100 Scavenger Hunt": Kids can compete for prizes while learning about our city’s history, all provided free of charge.
• "I Spy" Guided Tours: Special one-hour walking tours designed for family groups with children aged 5 to 13, inviting them to discover clues to the past 100 years in the urban landscape of the CBD.
• Engaging Community History: Learn about Brisbane's diverse cultures and the lived experiences of various ethnic communities over the last 100 years.
• First Nations Stories: Digital presentations and original art will introduce the thousands of years of stories of First Nations peoples.
