A Message from the Principal
As we wrap up what has been a very busy but successful term at Clontarf Beach SHS, it's a great time to reflect on the many achievements and moments of growth we've experienced together. Once again this term has provided so many academic milestones, sporting successes, cultural events and community engagement. Our school has continued to thrive with energy and purpose. The hard work and commitment shown by students, staff, and families have been outstanding, and we thank everyone for their ongoing contribution. We now look forward to a well-earned break and the chance to recharge for the term ahead.
As we look ahead to the coming term, it’s important that students take the time to get themselves prepared for success. This means setting clear goals, staying organised, and coming back ready to engage fully in all aspects of school life. Whether it’s catching up on reading, planning assessment timelines, or simply returning with a positive mindset, these small steps can make a big difference. Success doesn’t happen by chance—it comes from preparation, focus, and determination. Let’s all start the new term strong and ready to make it count.
Please note there will be a minor change to the school timetable due to adjustments required to meet the industrial requirements of Education Queensland employees. This change ensures we remain compliant with staffing and workload provisions and reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting both staff wellbeing and departmental guidelines. While the shift is small, we appreciate the understanding and flexibility of our students, staff, and families as we implement this necessary adjustment. Effectively, from Semester 2, the school day will now be starting at 8.25am with a warning bell at 8.20am.
We look forward to seeing each and every child back at Clontarf Beach SHS on 14 July, after a refreshing break. Please keep safe and well. Should your child not be able to return as expected please contact the school absence line on 3480 4760 on the day of the absence and state your child’s name and the reason for the absence. An email or a medical certificate/letter brought to Student Services the first day of return is also acceptable and appreciated. Unfortunately, despite starting the year well with respect to student attendance we have seen a decline in the lead up to these holidays. Our goal for attendance in 2025 is 85% attendance and 100% of absences explained. We appreciate your support in this matter. Every day counts at Clontarf Beach SHS State High.
