On Wednesday 25^th June, Colourful Connections hosted a Pride Month Celebration during Lunch 1. All LGBTQIA+ students, staff and allies were invited to a dynamic celebration with music, cake and lots of colour.

The origins of Pride Month stretch back to the Stonewall Riots of 1969 and the protest marches that occurred the following year in commemoration. Over time, protest marches became marches of recognition. Nowadays, Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate queer identity, culture and community.

Many thanks go out to all the people who made this wonderful event possible. To Alex, one of our student leaders who suggested the idea and assisted in the planning and preparation. To Bel, who came in last minute to capture some special memories of the event. To Ange, who provided extra goodies for us to share. And to all the wonderful students and staff who supported the event – thank you for coming together to make CBSHS an inclusive space for the LGBTQIA+ community.
