Senior Ancient History Excursion
The Senior Ancient History class took advantage of the visiting Ancient Egyptian exhibition at the Queensland Museum on Friday 2nd of May. 24 students explored artefacts from the Rijksmuseum Van Oudheden, the antiquities museum of the Netherlands.
The Discovering Ancient Egypt exhibition had an extensive collection of artefacts relating to the funerary practices of the time. There were also 5 mummies in the collection for students to see how bodies were preserved.
Students were fascinated by the variety of artefacts. Student’s also explored other exhibits at the Museum and were surprised to find an item that their teacher owned in the museum, showing that not all history is so old.
