IN THE ZONE: Interschool Sport Heats Up at Clontarf!
We’ve had an action-packed season with some incredible highlights from our Interschool Sports Program!
One of the standout moments was hosting Redcliffe State High School in our gym for the Futsal Metro Final Play-offs. The match brought fierce competition and outstanding sportsmanship to our home court. Our Senior Open Boys started strong, leading 6–1 at halftime. Despite a strong comeback from Redcliffe in the second half, our boys held their ground to secure a thrilling 9–7 victory.
Riding the momentum, the team then faced North Lakes State College, delivering another dominant performance and claiming a 10–5 win, securing their spot at the Metro Finals.
At the Metro Finals, our boys represented Clontarf with pride and intensity, going head-to-head with some of the top schools in the region—St Peter Claver College, Stretton College, and Loganlea SHS. After a series of tough matches, they finished with an impressive third place, showcasing their resilience, teamwork, and determination throughout the day.
Meanwhile, our Year 7/8 Girls Volleyball team put in a gutsy performance in their Metro Finals Play-off against The Gap State High School, a volleyball excellence program. In a tightly contested match, the girls narrowly lost in straight sets (2–0), showing great promise, skill, and heart until the very last point. A brilliant effort from our junior athletes!
The atmosphere in the gym during the play-offs was electric. Students packed the mezzanine to cheer on the teams, and the energy and support created an unforgettable experience.
