Students have just started participating in a weekly visit to the Ozcare Nursing home in Clontarf. The purpose of our visits is for students to experience some ‘real – life’ involvement with the elderly. After a hot 15-minute walk down the road, we were greeted by some very happy residents who shared some lemonade with us.

Students spread themselves out amongst the residents, happily chatting to them about their current lives and their past. There were stories about families, occupations, sporting successes, immigration, bar fridges beside the bed and more.Students thoroughly enjoyed talking with their elderly ‘clients’ and will continue to grow more confidence as we continue this lovely community partnership.
