At Clontarf Beach State High School, we believe that being prepared for every school day is essential to success. This preparation starts with wearing our uniform with pride, reflecting our commitment to the school community and upholding high standards of personal presentation. Equally important is maintaining a strong work ethic, approaching each lesson with focus, enthusiasm, and the determination to do our best. Our students understand the importance of punctuality, organization, and actively engaging in their studies.
Respectful behaviour is also at the core of our school values, as students consistently show kindness, responsibility, and integrity towards their peers, teachers, and the wider school community. By embodying these principles, our students set themselves up for a year of growth, achievement, and success.
This past week, our students demonstrated incredible respect and dedication in supporting the recent ANZAC Day events, showcasing their deep understanding of the importance of honouring those who served and sacrificed for our country. From participating in the school’s ANZAC Day ceremony and morning tea to marching alongside other schools and veterans, their enthusiasm and commitment were truly inspiring.
Their involvement not only paid tribute to our ANZACs but also exemplified the values of pride, passion and respect that are at the heart of our school community. We are proud of how our students upheld the spirit of ANZAC Day and contributed to the meaningful observances.
This week marks my first full year at Clontarf Beach SHS. This year has been an incredibly rewarding journey, filled with growth, learning, and meaningful connections. Stepping into this leadership role was both exciting and humbling, as I had the privilege of guiding a passionate team of educators and working alongside our dedicated students.
Throughout the year, I focused on fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment that supports the academic and personal growth of every student. It’s been inspiring to witness the resilience and creativity of our school community, as we navigated new challenges together. Whether through enhancing our curriculum, supporting extracurricular initiatives, or celebrating student achievements, I’m proud of the progress we’ve made as a school. As we move forward, I’m excited about continuing to build a culture of excellence and innovation at Clontarf Beach State High School.

Term 1 Reporting & Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews
Term 1 Student Reports were emailed to parents/carers on Tuesday the 29th of April. This is a slightly different process than previous years and is due to a change in our Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews which will take place on Wednesday the 7th of May.
You will now be able to book interviews with each of your student’s subject teachers and/or with their Care Teacher. This allows each parent/carer to have targeted conversations with subject teachers to determine subject specific strategies that could be used to improve student achievement. Your student is still required to attend the interview as has been the case in previous years.
For each subject which appears on your student’s report, teachers have indicated whether an interview is required, recommended or welcomed. Please use this information to help you plan your bookings for the evening. Please contact the office should you require any help to book your interviews.
We look forward to seeing you at our Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews!

S.E.S Squad Returns to CrossFit Moreton Bay for Strength & Skill Development!
Our Sports Extension Squad (S.E.S) athletes were back at CrossFit Moreton Bay for their second specialised training session, continuing to build strength, resilience, and confidence thanks to our ongoing partnership.

This session focused on mastering three core CrossFit movements—Push Press, Kettlebell Swings, and Weighted Squats—fundamental exercises that will be incorporated into larger-scale training sessions moving forward. Alongside these key skills, students also tackled a range of fun and dynamic CrossFit movements, pushing their limits while refining technique and control.
We can’t wait to witness their continued growth! A huge thank you to CrossFit Moreton Bay for their commitment to developing our young athletes. Stay tuned for more updates!

Last week, students participated in our in-school ANZAC ceremonies with respect and pride. Our Navy and Army Cadets, led by Ethan Pelling, represented their respective services with distinction and laid our wreath of remembrance. We were honoured to welcome special community guests to the senior ceremony, including representatives from Kerri-Anne Dooley MP, the Redcliffe RSL, the Redcliffe War Widows’ Guild, the Redcliffe Ex-Service Women’s Club, and Aunty Lorraine Rix. Their presence added great significance to the occasion, as the school community came together to reflect on the sacrifices of our servicemen and women.

Following the senior ceremony, a morning tea was hosted by our talented Hospitality students, who prepared and served a delicious selection of refreshments. This provided a warm and welcoming space for our special guests to share stories, memories, and reflections with our senior student leaders and staff. The conversations were meaningful and inspiring, offering students a deeper understanding of the legacy and ongoing impact of ANZAC service in our community.

The intermediate girls team played extremely well to beat Deception Bay in the Semi Finals of the All-Saints Moreton Bay Volleyball Competition to then come a close second to Bray Park a Volleyball school of excellence in the final.
This is a preparatory tournament for the Qld Schools Cup to be held on the Gold Coast in term 2. The girls should be congratulated for their fighting spirit coming close in the early stages of both sets. A big thank you to Jess Hiuarangi for taking the girls on the first day of the competition.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the Clontarf intermediate boys Volleyball Team travelled to Morayfield Sports Centre to compete in the Moreton Bay Saints Volleyball Challenge.
After finishing second in their pool, due to a draw, on Day 1 the boys had a clean sweep in the Semi-final and the final demolishing Redcliffe 25-7 in the final set. It was a great team effort with everyone contributing to our win.
With the Girls team coming second Clontarf Beach SHS secured the overall Intermediate Title leading the chase for the overall title.
